About Matcha
- What is Matcha?
Matcha is a finely milled Japanese green tea powder made from specially grown tea leaves. Unlike regular green tea, the entire leaf is consumed, delivering a rich umami flavour, vibrant green colour and smooth texture.
- Ceremonial vs Culinary Matcha
Ceremonial Matcha is crafted for exceptional flavour and can be enjoyed traditionally or with milk. While Culinary Matcha is generally used for baking, desserts, and cooking, we carefully source all of our matcha to deliver a rich, balanced flavour that stands up beautifully to milk.
- Matcha vs Green Tea
Both come from the same tea plant, but are enjoyed differently. Green tea is brewed by steeping the leaves in water, while matcha is finely milled into a powder and whisked directly into water, allowing you to enjoy the whole tea leaf.
